The establishment of Nirou Trans Co. acted as an attempt to cease foreign dependency, localize the production of the electricity industry's strategic products in the early 70s, and answer the urgent need to reform and rebuild the country's infrastructure. As a result, the production of instrument transformers up to the voltage level of 245 kV was put into operation by NTC in 1995.
In this regard, with the policy of the Ministry of Energy, a tripartite contract was signed by the Iran Power Development Co. (as the buyer), ABB Company of Sweden (as the technology owner), and Niro trans Company (as the seller) for the supply of equipment for 25 substations of 230 and 400 kV. According to the contract, ABB company was required to transfer the technological knowledge and produce 50% of the contract as well. The remaining quantity was produced and delivered by NTC until 1998. Then, the strong infrastructure of the company led to technology transfer and product portfolio expansion detailed as follows:
1998: Manufacturing 72.5-245kV Instrument Current and Voltage Transformers under the license of ABB, Switzerland.
1999: Manufacturing 420-550kV Instrument Current and Voltage Transformers
2000: Designing and manufacturing window type current transformers up to 36kV
2001: Manufacturing cast resin instrument current and voltage transformers up to 36kV through technology transfer from KONCAR, Croatia.
2002: Manufacturing 72.5-145kV condenser bushings.
2004: Manufacturing high voltage capacitors in the range of 72.5kV up to 550kV.
2005: Designing and manufacturing combined instrument transformers up to 36kV.
2006: Manufacturing 245-550kV condenser bushings under the license of HSP, Germany.
2007: Manufacturing 420kV button core current transformers under the license of ABB, Sweden.
2009: Manufacturing Generator Circuit Breaker under the license of ABB, Switzerland.
2014: Manufacturing Medium Voltage Power Factor Capacitors under the license of Iskara, Slovenia.
2017: Manufacturing Gas-Insulated Switchgear under license of ABB, Switzerland.
2018: Manufacturing all high voltage instrument transformers with composite insulators.
2019: Producing the active parts of RIP bushings up to 72.5 kV
Designing and manufacturing GIS current transformers.
2020: Designing and developing high-voltage coupling capacitors up to 100 nF.
Nirou trans Company is currently operating with capital equal to 21,700,000,000,000 IR-Rials and has remained persistent through thick and thin by relying on the knowledge and experience of its skilled labor.
