Generator Circuits Breakers
The Generator Circuit-Breaker (GCB) system HEC3 model is produced in NTC under the license of ABB Switzerland. It has been developed as a system suitable for all types of power plants that are under construction, development, and improvement. GCBs are placed between the generator and the main step-up voltage transformers for reliable and fast protection in an economical manner.
Among the main characteristics of GCBs made by NTC are:
  1. Simplicity of operation.
  2. Improved protection performance of the generator and the main transformers.
  3. Increased safety and high productivity of power plant.
This three-phase product consists of an SF6 gas switch and a disconnector placed inside a single-phase enclosure. Other main components of this product are earthing switches, voltage and current transformers on one or both sides, surge capacitors on both sides, surge arrestor on the transformer side, starting switch for gas turbines (Static Frequency Convertor), braking switch or manual short-circuiting connection.
